19th C. Spode 'Wildflower' Cheese Dish
A wonderful domed-top Staffordshire pottery cheese dish in the exuberant Wildflower pattern made by Copeland Spode c. 1847-67. It measures 4" high without the handle and 9 1/2" in diameter. It's in fine condition.

Each piece of this huge set is marked with the 'Copeland, Late Spode Copeland' device, numbered, and most have an impressed mark of 'Copeland' above a crown as well. All have very fine crazing consistent with the age of the pieces in the areas that are not colored, such as the bottoms. No two dishes are alike; the wildflowers are arranged differently on each piece.
