This photo doesn't do justice to the beautiful color or the engraving of these bottles. This pair of late 19th century purple blown glass wine decanters are engraved with grapes, vines and leaves. They have sterling collars with cork stoppers which were made for them about twenty years ago by a jeweler in Los Angeles. They stand 14 1/2 inches high. The bottoms have polished pontil marks. The design and color combinations in this 9' x 3' floral hooked rug are wonderful and are still bright, but more muted than the fresh colors on the reverse. No two things are alike in this rug except for the acanthus leaf inner border and the green leaf outer border. The dark green binding has minor wear on the front and there are two very small spots where threads are missing in the body of the rug (see photo).
